GTA 5 The Jewel Store Job: Loud Approach Walkthrough

Characters: Franklin and Michael. Branch: Loud. Required setup: Carbine Rifles. The finale starts from the crew briefing at Darnell Bros.

The Loud approach skips the gas and enters Vangelico through the front door. Michael collects jewelry while the gunman controls the occupants; Franklin handles the motorcycle escape. There is less preparation than Smart, but your crew’s performance inside the store matters more.

Step-by-step walkthrough

  1. Drive the crew to Vangelico

After the factory briefing, control Franklin and take the driver’s seat of the van. Wait for the team to get in, then follow the route to the shop. You do not need to climb the roof or look for a gas target in this branch. The arrival sequence puts Michael and the crew inside the store.

  2. Keep the store under control

Michael and the driver collect jewelry while the gunman handles the occupants. With Packie or Gustavo, that part is more reliable. If you chose Norm, watch for the store manager causing trouble and respond immediately to the game’s warning rather than continuing blindly through the cabinets. Avoid firing into the hostages: unnecessary civilian deaths can fail the heist.

  3. Work through the cabinets without doubling back

Collect from the nearest untouched display, then follow a continuous circuit through the room. Check the central cases as well as those along the walls. Your driver helps, but the gunman is occupied with crowd control, so do not assume two helpers are emptying displays for you.

If you use gunfire to break glass before collecting, keep it directed at the cabinets and away from people. First-person view, where available, can make alignment with each pickup easier. Reorient after every collection animation; repeatedly turning the wrong way costs more time than a brief check of the next case.

  4. Choose the right target for your gold attempt

The 50-second Quick Grab target is shorter than some hackers’ alarm windows. A leisurely full clear can earn Clean Sweep while missing Quick Grab. If you are learning the route, focus on finding all 20 cabinets, complete the mission and return for the speed objective. Do not wait for an alarm warning before deciding to leave.

  5. Ride with the crew through the sewers

After leaving the store, follow the escape as Franklin on the motorcycle. Keep the other riders in sight through the street turns and the freeway construction entrance. Slow down for the tunnel approach, then use Franklin’s ability to negotiate tight bends instead of clipping walls at full throttle. If Norm crashes, his dropped bag can be collected on the route; missing it reduces the recovered take.

  6. Clear the police cars from the river route

When the game switches to Michael, use the truck’s weight against the cruisers. Deal with cars directly threatening the motorcycles first. Follow the crew as it changes sides of the channel and intercept police emerging from side tunnels before they reach Franklin. Do not ram across the bikes’ path or leave a pursuing cruiser beside them while chasing a distant target.

  7. Meet the crew and drive to the lockup

Once the river pursuit is clear, stop at the rendezvous marker and let the motorcycles load. Drive the truck to the lockup and park at the final marker. Complete the closing sequence to finish the job and record your medal objectives.

Gold medal checklist

  • Quick Grab: Steal the jewelry within 50 seconds. This is the shop collection target, not a time limit for the entire heist.
  • Protégé Protected: Keep Franklin protected during the Los Santos River chase by removing the police cars threatening him.
  • Clean Sweep: Collect jewelry from all 20 cabinets. Watch for displays your driver missed and do not confuse broken glass with an emptied case.

Which crew works best for Loud?

Choose Packie McReary, if unlocked, or Gustavo Mota for dependable crowd control. Eddie Toh is a useful driver for this branch: Karim’s lower fee comes with weaker performance, including lost take in the Loud route. Rickie reduces the hacker fee but gives you less time inside; a more experienced hacker buys breathing room, not a longer Quick Grab limit.

These are planning-board choices. If you are already at the finale, adapt to the crew you selected or load a separate save from before planning. The cheapest percentages do not automatically produce the easiest run or the most recovered jewelry.

Loud versus Smart

Loud needs one setup, Carbine Rifles, and starts with a direct entry. Smart needs the van and gas, then adds Franklin’s rooftop throw. The motorcycle tunnels and river escape are shared, and both branches have the same three gold objectives. A successful story run follows the chosen branch; you do not need both finales for the story’s 100% checklist.

Common questions

Can I earn the gold objectives on separate runs?

Yes. Replay the mission to finish the objectives you missed and complete the run. You do not have to clear all three in one attempt.

Does replaying give me another payout?

No. Use replay for medals and practice. It does not repeatedly award the heist money or replace your saved story choices.
