Where to start: The blue phone in the Jesus Saves church in the neighborhood of Avalon in Downtown District . As its name suggests, the mission exists to introduce the player to the game's Respect mechanics.

Mission walkthrough

  1. Answer the introductory phone

Use the blue phone beside the starting church in Avalon. Read the Guider’s messages before driving away: the tour explains the coloured direction markers and why attacking one gang changes your standing with another.

  2. Take the supplied car

Enter the vehicle indicated by the Guider and follow the large pink direction marker. This introductory route uses its own destinations; you do not need to begin a normal gang job to advance it.

  3. Visit the three gang phones

Travel through Zaibatsu, Loony and Yakuza territory in the order requested. Answer the marked phone at each stop and let the conversation finish. Avoid unrelated fights while learning the streets, since lost health and unwanted police attention add nothing to the tour.

  4. Return to the church

After the Yakuza introduction, follow the marker back to the starting church. Returning completes the lesson and awards money, an S-Uzi and a Special Token. Remember this location for saving once you can afford the fee.

Key point

The tutorial is optional, but driving away before the return trip forfeits its completion rewards.

This guide follows the original PC/console campaign. Check the platform notes for PlayStation differences and the separate Game Boy Color adaptation.
