The Paleto Score starts as a bank robbery and becomes a heavily armoured battle through the town. Franklin’s original getaway plan collapses, forcing a bulldozer rescue and a factory escape. Gold combines heavy ammunition use with accuracy, speed and a large destruction total.
Step-by-step walkthrough
-
Enter the bank and collect the take
Drive the crew to Paleto Bay, drop Franklin at the coast and park near the bank. Follow the entry sequence, control the hostages and wait for the vault route to open. Collect the money and prepare to leave in heavy armour.
The gross take is not the amount each protagonist keeps. The FIB and crew cuts are substantial, and damage during the escape can reduce the money carried out.
-
Clear the road and move through town
As the armoured crew emerges, use Trevor’s minigun against the police vehicles and helicopter. Fire over 4,000 rounds for Let It Rain and destroy vehicles or the gas-station pumps to build Collateral Damage.
The accuracy condition still requires 50%, so direct sustained fire at actual targets instead of empty space. Move when the objective advances rather than standing outside the bank indefinitely. Enemy hits can spill money from the bags.

-
Reach Franklin’s bulldozer
Fight through the marked route towards the construction area as the military joins the battle. If an inexperienced gunman is crushed during the escape, recover his dropped money before leaving it behind. A reliable gunman survives and continues helping.
Switch to Franklin and drive the Dozer towards the others. Follow the rescue route, collect the crew on the front and head for the Cluckin’ Bell factory. Keep moving away from the tanks instead of trying to destroy every heavy vehicle.
-
Fight through the factory and board the train
Use cover inside the factory and clear the soldiers blocking the route to the railway platform. Michael’s ability helps place accurate shots in the tighter interior. Follow the moving escape objective until the crew can board the passing train.
Complete the final handover in Sandy Shores. For a 16-minute run, skip scenes and keep advancing after each wave is cleared. Medal-focused destruction can be handled in a replay if it slows the first successful escape too much.
Gold medal checklist
- Let It Rain: Fire over 4,000 bullets. Trevor’s minigun is the practical tool for the count.
- Accuracy: Finish with at least 50% shooting accuracy.
- Time: Complete within 16:00.
- Collateral Damage: Cause $1,000,000 of damage in Paleto Bay by destroying suitable vehicles and explosive scenery.
Common questions
Why is my final payout much smaller than the bank total?
The FIB takes a large share, then Lester and the gunman receive their cuts. Money lost from damage during the escape reduces the remaining amount further.
What happens if my gunman dies?
Collect the dropped bag before leaving the area. The death also removes that crew member from later heists.
