Mission walkthrough
-
Meet Gonzalez and board
Reach the meeting point and take the marked Sea Sparrow. Check the aircraft’s firing controls before approaching the convoy. This mission combines piloting and shooting, so hold a stable attitude whenever you need accurate fire.
-
Stay with the protected boat
Follow Gonzalez’s movement and attack the hostile boats or other marked threats closing on him. Keep your weapons aimed away from the boat you are escorting. Do not fly so far ahead that you miss an attack developing behind you.
-
Make controlled firing passes
Use short, level approaches against attackers instead of diving steeply into the water. Pull away early enough to regain altitude and turn. Protecting Gonzalez takes priority over destroying a distant enemy that is no longer threatening him.
-
Defeat the helicopter threat
When the hostile helicopter appears, line up your mounted weapon and keep it in the firing path. Correct your heading gradually while preserving your own aircraft. Return attention to the escort objective after it falls and stay until the mission completes.
Key point
The Sea Sparrow needs its nose aligned for effective fire. Stabilise first, shoot second and leave enough altitude to recover from a turn.
