Reach the junkyard before Lance dies
Start the mission at the Malibu Club and head directly to the junkyard. Lance's health is draining while you travel. Choose an intact car with a passenger seat before beginning, and avoid stopping to buy ammunition once the rescue is underway.

Break through the entrance
Use the car to get past the outer approach, then clear the gunmen blocking the route to Lance. Do not spend the whole health countdown eliminating every enemy at long range. Advance when the immediate path is safe, keeping an escape vehicle within reach.

Free Lance and get him into a car
Reach the marked captive to trigger the rescue. After control returns, lead Lance to a usable car and wait for him to enter. A vehicle with heavy damage is a poor choice for the coming pursuit; use a sound car in the yard if yours is smoking.

Deliver Lance to hospital
Take the hospital marker seriously as a destination, not an invitation to fight Diaz's pursuing cars. Drive around blockades where possible and avoid getting pinned against walls. Enter the hospital marker with Lance still alive and in the vehicle.
Key point
Save time before the rescue, then protect the passenger after it. Leaving the junkyard alone or trying to win every chase firefight only makes the second half harder.
