Mission walkthrough
-
Locate and observe the convoy
Travel to the mainland and find the moving military column. Keep your distance while checking where the tank is within the escort. Walking directly into a group of armed soldiers makes reaching the tank much harder.
-
Use the convoy's pause
A practical approach is to follow the convoy until it stops near the doughnut shop and the tank becomes easier to access. Move in when the opportunity appears and enter the Rhino promptly. If you approach aggressively, expect the escort to open fire.
-
Drive straight to the lockup
Once inside, follow the delivery marker immediately. The tank is slow, and the self-destruct countdown leaves little room for sightseeing. Use the wide road and make deliberate turns; getting wedged against a wall wastes more time than taking a slightly longer clean corner.
-
Park and get out
Drive fully into Cortez's marked garage, stop and leave the tank. Walk clear of the garage so the delivery can register. Merely reaching the door while staying in the driver's seat does not finish the job.
Key point
Stealing the tank is only half the mission. As soon as the countdown appears, treat the marked garage as the only objective and avoid detours.
