Friend Request is Michael’s first job for Lester in Los Santos. The mission follows a fixed route through a clothing shop, the Lifeinvader office and Michael’s living room. Its two gold objectives are a total time of 8:30 and a separate 32-second limit for clearing the office computer’s pop-ups.

Buy the clothes Lester needs
Visit Lester’s house, then drive to the marked Suburban store in Vinewood. Speak to the assistant and buy the casual vest and shorts offered for the job. Avoid browsing the rest of the shop during a timed attempt. Once the outfit objective clears, leave and follow the route to Lifeinvader.

Use the rear entrance and follow Rickie
Park at the destination and walk to the rear entrance. The encounter with Rickie gets Michael inside; there is no need to force a door or threaten anyone. Follow the programmer upstairs to his workstation. Keep track of the route back to the entrance so you can reach your car quickly later.

Clear the pop-ups and run the antivirus
Close the visible windows using their small X buttons. Work through the overlapping boxes, keeping the cursor close to the next exposed close button. Clicking an advertisement itself wastes time. Once the desktop shortcut is accessible, launch the antivirus and complete its scan and removal prompts. Clearing the windows alone does not finish Rickie’s request.

Visit the prototype room
After helping Rickie, go to the indicated demo room and approach the prototype on the desk. The game handles the sabotage in a scene. Leave the office through the rear route and return to your parked vehicle. This stage needs no weapon, chase or further computer interaction.

Watch the keynote and call Jay Norris
Drive to Michael’s house and enter the living room. Use the television to watch the keynote. Wait until Jay Norris brings out the prototype phone, then open Michael’s phone, choose Contacts and call Jay Norris. Let the resulting scene finish. Calling before the presentation reaches the phone demonstration is not the required sequence.

Does this replace Lester’s assassination missions?
No. Friend Request is its own early story mission; it is separate from Franklin’s later assassination jobs.
