Step-by-step walkthrough

Locate the hanging submersible
Follow Wade’s marker to the Daisy-Lee at the Port of Los Santos. Identify the yellow submersible hanging over the water and find a clear view of the cables supporting it. Stay on the dock if you want No Boarding.
Do not climb aboard to investigate the release controls first. The medal condition covers the theft, so leaving the ship again before shooting the cables does not undo having boarded it.

Shoot the cables and enter from the water
Aim at the supporting cables and sever them until the sub drops into the sea. Use controlled shots so you are cutting the suspension rather than firing repeatedly into the hull. Once it falls, jump into the water, swim to the sub and enter through its access point.
The onboard switch is an alternative for ordinary completion, but it is unnecessary on the gold route. Keep moving after the drop instead of returning to the road for another vehicle.
Shoot the supporting cables from the dock to complete the theft without boarding. -
Navigate to Floyd’s extraction point
Pilot the sub around the port towards the marked extraction area. Stay close enough to the surface to maintain a clear route, while avoiding ships, piers and the seabed. Large steering corrections are slow; line up the next open stretch before accelerating.
At the marker, Floyd uses the crane to lift the sub onto the truck. Let the loading sequence finish rather than trying to beach the sub elsewhere.

Deliver the loaded truck
Drive the truck to the warehouse marker, park it in the required position and get out to finish. The final road section is part of the 8:30 time limit. Skip scenes on a timed attempt and avoid unnecessary detours through the container yards.

- Time: Complete within 8:30. Keep the water route direct and skip scenes.
- No Boarding: Steal the submersible without boarding the Daisy-Lee. Shoot its supporting cables from the dock.

Do both approaches need Minisub?
Yes. Freighter and Offshore both use the submersible. Only Offshore adds Cargobob as a separate setup.
Can I use the release switch and still get No Boarding?
No. Reaching that switch requires boarding the ship. Use the cable-shooting route for the medal.
What happens next
For Freighter, this completes the dedicated vehicle setup. For Offshore, obtain the Cargobob as well before returning to the heist marker.
