GTA Online Adds Cayo Perico Survival with Undead Waves
Cayo Perico Survival arrived in GTA Online on August 28, 2025, replacing the island’s usual heist operation with a fight through undead hordes. The new mode sends players towards the airstrip and an evacuation plane after battling through the island.
A different threat on Cayo Perico
The enemy mix includes musket-carrying conquistadors, Panther Trainers with their animals and groups of Splitters. The mode is a Survival activity, separate from the Cayo Perico Heist and its preparation missions.
At launch, players could enter through the Cayo Perico Series on the in-game phone or the palm-tree marker at Terminal. The announcement does not require buying a Kosatka to join this Survival.
Launch rewards and clothing
Double GTA$ and RP ran through September 10, with quadruple rewards for GTA+ members. Playing the mode awarded the I Survived Cayo Perico Tee, delivered within 72 hours. Completing ten waves of a Survival during the promotion earned The Buccaneer Outfit and GTA$100,000.
The Panther Tour Jacket was another login reward during the two-week period. These clothing and cash incentives had deadlines; they should not be confused with permanent completion rewards available on any later date.
Separate island-related bonuses
The wider event also boosted Hidden Cache rewards and discounted several Kosatka upgrades through September 3. Those offers ended earlier than the Survival launch bonus. The different dates matter when comparing the original event’s rewards or checking what was available during its second week.
