GTA 6 Preload Starts November 10: Times and Storage
Rockstar has moved the digital preload window for Grand Theft Auto VI to November 10, giving players more time to download the game before its November 19 release. The start time differs between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the download can require up to 212 GB.
PS5 and Xbox preload times
On PS5, downloads begin at midnight on November 10 in each player’s local time zone. Xbox Series X|S uses one worldwide opening time: 12 a.m. GMT on November 10. That distinction matters if you are comparing the time shown on your console with reports from another country.
The preload announcement does not bring forward the playable release. November 19 remains the launch date. Downloading the files early prepares the installation; it is not an early-access period.
Prepare enough storage before the download
Rockstar lists a requirement of up to 212 GB, with the exact size depending on the device. Check free space on the console before the window opens, particularly if several large games are already installed. The figure is a maximum requirement in the announcement, not a promise that both consoles use an identical download size.
Boxed codes and launch-day extras
Code-in-box copies are expected at retailers from November 12. The announcement also schedules free printable cover artwork and a Leonida map for November 19. A double-sided physical poster is planned for the Rockstar Store shortly after launch.
This November 3 announcement supersedes the November 12 digital preload date included in the earlier preorder notice.
