GTA V Enhanced Launches on PC With a Free Upgrade
Rockstar Games has released GTA V Enhanced for PC today, March 4, bringing the upgraded edition to Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam and Epic Games. Existing PC owners can download it at no extra cost, while new purchases include both Enhanced and the original PC edition, now called GTA V Legacy.
A larger upgrade for GTA Online players
The release brings Hao's Special Works to GTA Online on PC, giving players access to its performance upgrades and associated races and time trials. The newly available vehicles include the Karin S95, Coil Cyclone II, Pegassi Weaponized Ignus, Imponte Arbiter GT and Pfister Astron Custom.
Enhanced also adds ambient wildlife and the daily Wildlife Photography Challenge, alongside Career Progress and the Career Builder introduction for new characters. GTA+ becomes available on the upgraded PC edition as an optional paid membership; subscribing is not required to receive the free upgrade.

New graphics options, with hardware requirements to match
Technical changes include ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination, alongside ray-traced reflections and shadows. Supported systems can also benefit from SSD and DirectStorage loading improvements, Dolby Atmos audio and DualSense adaptive triggers.
AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS are supported, but Rockstar says frame generation for both is planned for a later date. It is not part of today's launch feature set. Enhanced requires an SSD, so players should check the new system requirements before installing.
Your progress can move, but your friends need the same edition
Story Mode saves and GTA Online progress can migrate from Legacy to Enhanced. Rockstar describes each transfer as a one-time migration. Your Legacy progress remains available, but the move is not a system for continually sharing progress between the two editions.
There is also an immediate multiplayer distinction: Legacy and Enhanced players cannot join the same GTA Online sessions. Groups moving to the new edition should coordinate the switch. Legacy remains available for players whose hardware cannot run Enhanced.
Oscar Guzman's update arrives on both versions
Today's Oscar Guzman Flies Again update is available in both PC editions. It introduces operations from McKenzie Field Hangar in Grapeseed, with new missions and aircraft. Access to that update therefore does not depend on moving to Enhanced, even though features such as Hao's Special Works do.
