Mission walkthrough

  1. Find the upstairs marker

Enter the Ocean View Hotel on Ocean Beach and approach the marker by the stairs. Simply driving past the hotel does not trigger the conversation. If the introductory drive has just ended, continue inside instead of looking for a separate contact elsewhere.

  2. Finish the call to Sonny

Tommy reports the lost money and drugs. There is no shooting, pursuit or dialogue choice to solve. Let the scene finish, then check the radar for Ken Rosenberg's contact marker.

  3. Return to Rosenberg

Leave the hotel and travel to the lawyer's office to begin The Party. Save before leaving if you want an early clean slot. You do not need to buy weapons or complete a side activity to unlock this next mission.

Key point

If the story seems stuck immediately after the introduction, enter the hotel and approach its mission marker. The phone conversation is the progression trigger.
