Something Sensible is the ending reached by choosing to kill Trevor. Completing it removes Trevor as a playable character in the main story save. If you want all three protagonists available afterwards, choose C instead or keep a separate save before making this decision.
Step-by-step walkthrough
-
Choose A and meet Trevor
After Devin’s visit to Franklin, select A only if you intend to follow this ending. Franklin arranges a meeting with Trevor at an empty lot in El Burro Heights and calls Michael on the way. Travel to the marker and let the confrontation begin.
The encounter becomes a pursuit rather than a normal conversation with multiple peaceful solutions. Once the chase begins, your task is to follow Trevor’s truck through the route.
-
Stay with the truck through Los Santos
Keep Trevor’s vehicle in sight and follow his turns. Use Franklin’s driving ability when traffic or sharp junctions threaten to separate you. Do not waste time trying to force an early roadside finish to the scripted chase.
Franklin calls Michael for help as the pursuit moves towards the oil fields. Continue following the target until Michael’s intervention triggers the next scene. The mission has no time, accuracy or vehicle-damage gold requirement.

-
Finish the oil-field confrontation
Michael rams Trevor’s truck into a tanker and the confrontation ends with Trevor lying in spilled fuel. Follow the final objective to complete the ending. If Franklin hesitates, Michael can carry out the final action; the story still reaches Trevor’s death.
There is no last-second rescue branch here that restores all three characters. The gold objective records Trevor’s death, and the remaining dialogue leads into the credits.
-
Check the consequences before continuing
After the ending, Trevor is no longer available for character switching in this save. His unfinished character-specific activities are therefore no longer available through normal play on that timeline.
Loading a separate pre-decision save is the reliable way to return to the choice with everyone alive. Replaying a different ending from the mission menu does not rewrite the outcome of your main story save.
