Chop combines a van chase with a search through the rail yard. The motorcycle pursuit has a scripted turning point, so focus on staying close and protecting Lamar's van. Save the close search for the section where Chop begins tracking D's scent.
Step-by-step walkthrough

Reach the alley in Vinewood
Follow Lamar and Chop to the white van. Get in, wait for both passengers and drive to Vinewood Boulevard. Park at the marked alley entrance and approach the meeting. After D escapes on his motorcycle, return to the van to begin the pursuit.

Follow the motorcycle without wrecking the van
Keep D in sight and slow before tight corners. The van cannot turn like his motorcycle, so use Franklin's driving ability to make clean corrections through traffic. Accumulate at least seven seconds of ability use for Advanced Reflexes. Continue until D's collision changes the chase into a pursuit on foot.

Follow Chop through the rail yard
Leave the van, run after D and climb the obstacles along the route. Watch the tracks as you move between trains. When D disappears, switch to Chop's viewpoint and let his tracking lead the search. Spend at least ten seconds in that view to satisfy Homedog before returning to Franklin to open the indicated boxcars.

Bring Chop back to the search
After the first boxcars, Chop becomes distracted by another dog. Follow him and use the interaction prompt to pull him away. Resume the search, follow him to the next group of cars and open the indicated door. Chase D when he runs; Chop will catch him.

Finish the drive with Lamar
Put D in the van and follow the route towards Lamar's house. The plan changes during the journey. When instructed, stop to let D out, then take Lamar to the BJ Smith Recreation Center. Continue protecting the van until that final drop-off.
Gold medal checklist
- Not a Scratch Finish with little damage to Lamar's van.
- Homedog Spend at least ten seconds in Chop's viewpoint.
- Advanced Reflexes Use Franklin's driving ability for at least seven seconds.
Troubleshooting
The search cannot progress while Chop remains distracted by the dog. If you are missing Homedog, simply following Chop as Franklin is not enough: you must switch viewpoints.
What happens next
Lamar later calls to arrange for Chop to stay with Franklin. You can then interact with him at Franklin's home. Marriage Counseling is another early mission to continue with once its prerequisites are met.
