Prepare before meeting Lance
Arrive with full health and armour. Lance supplies an assault rifle for the operation, but having additional ammunition gives you room to handle the mansion's guards without rushing. The mission starts outside Diaz's property on Starfish Island.

Clear a path around the mansion
Fight through the grounds with Lance. Use walls and corners to limit how many guards can shoot at once. The obvious front approach does not provide the complete route inside; follow the accessible path around the building to the rear entrance.

Advance through the interior
Enter carefully and clear each landing before climbing. Check Lance's position so he is not left fighting alone while Tommy runs ahead. Avoid throwing explosives into a cramped space occupied by your partner.

Eliminate Diaz
Move up towards Diaz's position and keep pressure on him from a clear angle. Once he is defeated, the mansion becomes the Vercetti Estate and the next stage of the story opens. The $50,000 reward is useful capital for the businesses unlocked shortly afterwards.

Lance is a partner to protect, not an expendable distraction. Clear the enemies he is engaging before advancing to another floor.
